Husband &
wife duo Liz Wong & Eric Adler present new paintings that
utilize modern characters & imagery to explore the classic
themes of good vs. evil. These narratives depict school girls
& cute deer battling evil demons & robots in epic battles.
The artists have paired these battle scenes with paintings of
recruitment posters for the “Girl’s Revolutionary
Army”. Also included are a series of found paintings that
the artists have modified by adding their own imagery. With the
artists’ alterations, these once prosaic paintings have
morphed into interesting compositions. The work is all done in
acrylic, ink, & watercolor on board & wood, in a flat,
graphic style. The imagery is inspired by Japanese pop culture,
comics, street art, and Chinese propaganda posters.
