BIOGRAPHYIsaac Bushkin
lives and paints in Philadelphia. He went to the University Of Hartford
Art School for Painting and Illustration. He works primarily in
oil and mixed media, incorporating or working directly on recycled
materials. The artist paints fantastical animals & creatures
dwelling within natural landscapes. In Cardinal Migrations of Zmey
the artist will present 15+ allegorical paintings on wood pieces.
In this show, various symbols, such as Zmey (mythical dragons from
Russian folklore) and skulls, are utilized to represent people &
their relationships to nature, destruction & rebirth, traveling
& finding one’s home and one’s self through the
journey. The artist hopes the viewer will question the surroundings
in which his characters live, and hopefully relate it to themselves,
their own relationship with nature, and the overall need to reconnect
with it.
