Jen Corace was born and raised in the suburbs of southern New Jersey.  She attended the Rhode Island School of Design from 1992-1996 and graduated with a BFA in Illustration.  She balances her time between Seattle & Rhode Island where she lives & works on children's books & her fine artwork.

Clementine is a body of work that stems from costuming research I've done for book projects I've worked on over the past year and the next step from my most recent show "Our Finest Hour."  Generally focusing on the Victorian and Edwardian Era I was interested in creating interesting shapes and interlocking them with pattern and/or large panels of flat color.  I wanted to find a balance between the negative space of the paper and the form that it holds.
