    Art Star at Winterfest

We are excited to announce that we opened up a 2nd Seasonal location within The Lodge at Winterfest this year! For those of you that came last year, it is much different and even better! Instead of having rotating craft vendors, we just have one big Art Star shop that is within a 40 foot shipping container, which is along the perimeter of The Lodge.  The other difference this year (from last) is that our store is accessible from within The Lodge (which is one of the huge heated tents) with giant sliding doors that we will keep open. It is warm, cozy and inviting with a fireplace inside (super excited about that!)

Right next door to us is beer and food.  Throughout The Lodge are cozy couches, fireplaces (mantels from the Divine Lorraine Hotel) and much more.  This year is a HUGE improvement from last year (which we all thought was pretty amazing anyway) so just wait until you see it! We encourage guests to make a day (or night) of it and enjoy all that Winterfest has to offer: ice skating, good food, booze, beer, arcade games, pool, the firepits + fireplaces, etc.  PLUS you can get your holiday shopping done at Art Star!  We are fully stocked with gifts to give everyone on your list this holiday!

DRWC is the fantastic non-profit behind all the development you are seeing along the waterfront, including Spruce Street Harbor Park and Winterfest.  They are an incredible group of passionate people and we feel so honored to be a part of these projects.  If you see any of the DRWC staff walking around, please thank them. They’ve worked so hard to make Winterfest amazing for you to enjoy! And we really think you will!

  • Art Star Fun Times – This First Friday!

This First Friday from 5-8pm we are having a fun little party in the shop!  Our first Artists in Residence, Kelly Kozma will have her studio doors open for you to peek in, meet her and check out her work in progress. We will also have some free beer and snacks from our neighbor, El Capitan.

    PLUS!
Little Chair Printing will be set up with her heat press.  You will be able to choose from her huge collection of 80’s iron on transfers (think cute kittens, unicorns, etc) and heat press your own Tee.   We encourage you to grab a few, cut them up and create a fun collage.  If you bring your own T-shirt, you can heat press it for just $5.  If not, we’ll have some on hand for you to buy for an additional $5.  Here is a photo of what our customers created the last time Little Chair set up:

Click on the photo to check out all the pics from our last event with Little Chair Printing!

Our friends from Cut + Paste Photobooth will be set up with all her fun props for guests to jump in and get their photos taken. You will get one free photo to take home with you too!

And there’s more! Our brand new, handmade games will be set up for you to play!  The Ring Toss was made by Cisco Griffin (bowling pins donated by our friends at North Bowl). Play as much as you want during the course of the evening, but each guest will get 1 game where you can rack up Art Star discounts to redeem this night ONLY!  Each large ring you get on will get you 5% off, and each smaller ring you get on will get you 10% off.  If you get all the rings on in one game, you will get 70% off – though it’s pretty hard to do that. Are you up for the challenge?

And just for fun… Play our Corn Hole game handmade by Andrew Zangerle!

We hope to see you this Friday for these Art Star Fun Times!  Please go to our Facebook Event to invite friends and let us know you are coming!  Free to attend but we hope you will do some shopping too 😉  We’ve got in lots of new goodies!

  • Art Star + School of Vintage

If you have been to our shop recently, you may have noticed that our whole back gallery space is now a little School of Vintage pop up shop that will be up through April.  If you haven’t been by to check it out, do it soon! Their stuff is the absolute best!  We have loved working with Erin + Jeannine of SOV and have become friends in the process.  I think our shops really compliment one another, so we hope to continue to work together outside of their Art Star pop up.

We recently opened up a tiny little space with them inside the Tuckerton Emporium.  The emporium has been family owned and operated for the past 20 years and is home to a bunch of little shops in one big, beautiful old house in Tuckerton, NJ. Our space is located right by a big, bright window and you will find a nice selection of SOV clothing, accessories, jewelry and some housewares.

an assortment of Art Star prints

We sent them 2 boxes of our merchandise and Erin + Jeannine were kind enough to set it up for us.  We decided to start off small to see how their customers respond to the types of work we carry.

You will find affordable prints like this one by Paper Sparrow for $12

Right now you will find an assortment of prints, soy candles by Melo, wallets by Shara Porter,  Necklaces by Julianna Swaney, a couple Horrible Adorables, Farmhaus Candle Holders, Coin Pouches by So Softies, Cherry Box Eye Masks, Printed Tea Towels from Art Goodies and some small ceramic pieces. So if you live out in that area, please stop by and pick up a little something to adorn your home, find a special gift for a friend, or treat yourself to a little handmade goody. If we do well, we will stock more products.  And please let us know if there is anything in particular that you’d like to see there!

Our necklaces by Julianna Swaney, Wallets by Shara Porter, and Coasters by Yardsale Press are amongst the Art Star goods you will find at the Tuckerton Emporium.

The Tuckerton Emporium is home to a bunch of shops that sell a variety of goods, including vintage, antiques, new items, and some art + handmade items.  Here are some more photos I snapped inside the Emporium:
